Palbit hosts an Industry 4.0 event bringing together over 100 industry leaders
Palbit hosted a groundbreaking Industry 4.0 event on March 6th, bringing together over 100 participants, including dignitaries from public entities, representatives from the industrial sector, and research and development institutions. Palbit's I4.0 Open Day marked a significant step in the industry's commitment to innovation and technological cooperation, fostering an environment for sharing knowledge and experiences among key players.Jorge Ferreira, CEO of Palbit, along with Marisa Garrido, member of the IAPMEI Board of Directors, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of innovation and competitiveness in the global industrial landscape. "The relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation is a fundamental requirement for international competition," stated Jorge Ferreira.
The presentation session highlighted pioneering research projects underway at Palbit, with particular emphasis on collaborations with Knowledge Centers such as FEUP-INEGI and INESC TEC. Daniel Figueiredo, Executive Board Member of Palbit, Ana Reis, from FEUP-INEGI, and Luís Rocha, from INESC TEC, shared insights on how these partnerships are shaping the future of machining and what the challenges ahead may be.
The closing ceremony was led by Miguel Araújo, General Director of MOBINOV, who highlighted the importance of merging knowledge with industry to generate added value and drive innovation.
One of the highlights of the event was the guided tour of Palbit's manufacturing facility, where participants were able to witness firsthand the advanced manufacturing process and the implementation of cutting-edge digitalization technologies. Jorge Ferreira emphasized: "Technology is crucial, but it's people, with their creativity and dedication, who truly drive our innovation."
