Mounting Procedure

Pilot Drill for indexable drilling

We are committed to providing clear and detailed instructions on how to adjust the pilot drill's height for optimal results. By fine-tuning the pilot drill's position with a hidden screw inside the Vortex M10D or the adjustment screw on Integrex drills, users can significantly reduce the likelihood of breakage and improve the drilling process.

Procedures for Vortex Drill M10D

To exemplify we will use a vortex drill with ØDc of 105mm and 6D length.

PROCEDURE 1

Place the cutter in a support or presetting device.

PROCEDURE 2

Check the adjustment screw inside and adjust it.

PROCEDURE 3

Put the pilot drill on the inside hole. The inside insert can not be in place.

PROCEDURE 4

Screw the clamping screw to tighten the pilot drill.

PROCEDURE 5

Measure the space between the top of the insert and the top of the pilot drill (L6).

PROCEDURE 6

According to the chart confirm the value of L6.

PROCEDURE 7

If the value does not match, remove the pilot drill and tighten or loosen the screw inside the cutter. Insert the pilot drill and remeasure L6. Repeat from process 2 until you reach the corresponding L6 value in the table.

PROCEDURE 8

Once the measured value matches the value in the table, tighten the side screw to secure the pilot drill.
Put the inside insert to complete the process.

Procedures for Integrex Drills

To exemplify we will use a DHS drill with ØDc of 25mm.

PROCEDURE 1

Place the cutter in a support or presetting device. Put the pilot drill on the inside hole.

PROCEDURE 3

Tighten the adjustment screw to mesure the L value.

PROCEDURE 2

Measure the space between the top of the insert and the top of the pilot drill (L).

PROCEDURE 4

According to the chart confirm the value of L.

PROCEDURE 5

If the value does not match, tighten or loosen the adjustment screw until you reach the corresponding L value in the table.

PROCEDURE 6

Once the measured value matches the value in the table, tighten the clamping screw to secure the pilot drill.

PROCEDURE 7

Place the insert to complete the process.
